♿ Students with Disability

Boronia Heights State School

We are committed to creating an inclusive and equitable education environment where every student with disability can succeed and thrive.

📘 Our Commitment

We align with the Department of Education’s
Every Student with Disability Succeeding 2021–2025 Plan and
Equity and Excellence: Realising the Potential of Every Student.

🎯 Our Priorities

  • Supporting success and wellbeing through every stage of learning
  • Ensuring continuous improvement in access to teaching, learning, and assessment of the Australian Curriculum

👩‍🏫 Inclusive Classroom Support

At Boronia Heights SS, our Inclusion Support Teachers and Teacher Aides work alongside classroom teachers to:

  • Provide reasonable adjustments
  • Use tailored teaching strategies
  • Ensure students with disability can access education on the same basis as their peers

🌱 External Agency Support @ Boronia

Some students benefit from support provided by external professionals to help achieve their learning goals. We collaborate with these agencies to ensure students GROW.

Support may include:

  • Providing therapy space in the Growth Hub
  • Facilitating student observations in the classroom
  • Sharing information with external providers (with parent/carer consent)
  • Completing questionnaires from paediatricians or psychologists

📝 External Agency Visit Process

  1. Contact the Head of Program: Inclusion
  2. Complete the Parent/Carer External Agency Request Form
  3. Submit the form for Principal approval
  4. School contacts the agency; the agency completes the NDIS Provider Request Form
  5. Agency provides required documents: Blue Card, insurance, training, vaccination proof
  6. School schedules a suitable time for therapy

📌 Classroom observations by external agencies require consent from all parents in the class.
